Just another face in the crowd

I hate to write. I can't think of anything clever to say without sounding stupid but here goes...

My Valentines day this year was spent in bed with a raging fever. I can't understand why I am so unhealthy when I rarely eat junk food.. but then again the last time I exercised was about 12 months ago, and since walking from one end of orchard road to the other is a Physical Challenge for me.. I guess, that's why I'm such a weakling. I hate Sport. Anyway, I digress.

I love how commercialised Valentines Day is. How restaurants only have vday menus at jacked up prices, how online florists only allow you to buy vday bouquets and not the normal less pricey bouquets(don't ask me how I get this kinda information), how unattractive any human can ever feel for not having a date on that day, how you don't feel half as bad splurging on vday just to make him/her smile. I am a true blue vday advocate! ...apart from the fact that I had Zero plans since Kawai was outfield and hence the whole idea of vday was deemed obsolete.
-______- So my very kind and understanding body thought, if I can't spend it with him, it's okay to spend it with a raging fever.

Anyhow, I've been busy with music/noise or whatever you call the sounds I make from my keyboards. Finally, I found something that makes me smile.. something that does not require SGD4300. Playing lounge music keeps my sanity in place, unlike classical which I have been struggling with ever since I was five. It's so much more fun and challenging than boring Mozart or Beethovan or Tchaikovsky or whichever great composer I was forced to remember during theory/aural trainings. I love improvisation and coming up with my own accompaniment.. I wished I was never introduced to ABRSM exams. Ever. That was childhood trauma I say. Is anybody gonna care if you have a Grade 8 cert? I mean, unless your ambition is to work at Cristofori or Yamaha.

Victor (my new teacher) tried to probe about what my dad does for a living last night; he kept throwing in stuff like Lawyer? Judge? Minister? So I got a little annoyed and said President of Singapore. He stared at me in disbelief.. no wait let me correct that. He stared at me and BELIEVED. Then when I made a little weird face and asked if I looked indian, he's like.. oh wait who's our president again? Apathetic.. apathetic indeed haha. I can't believe I let him convince me that the common flu that I'm nursing now originated from a group of psycho doctors in Singapore who lack profits due to high rent and hence released this virus to the public. Uhhh.. you can't blame me, it was pretty damn convincing!

I had an epiphany at church last Sunday. It was just so amazing, it was as if every single doubt I had about my faith in God was cleared.. I'll share soon. :B
